Always Ahead is a limited edition art collection by Audrey Miller, celebrating examples of the UAE's commitment to innovation and excellence.
In her signature style, she intentionally lands your eyes on to chosen points and then leads them around whilst distracting you from the actual subject.
As an example, this piece pays respect to the ancient Emirati weaving tradition Al Sadu that uses a loom to create intricate patterns highly prized by Emiratis.
But what this piece actually celebrates is the 1971 Union when the late Sheikh Zayed united the leaders of 6 neighboring states to form the United Arab Emirates we know of today.
My goal with this collection is to introduce a new type of aesthetic design, confuse viewers with an impalpable sense of familiarity and then surprise them with the final reveals.
